The Julia Sorrell Painting Tours to Umbria, Italy  October 2006

 

Julia and Ian took another group painting to the Umbrian/Tuscan boarder. Right is Julia’s view in oil  from the house. In the distance in the lake of Montepuliciano. As well as painting views surrounding the house, the group also worked in the Etruscan museum in Chiusi, and visited Montepulciano, Cortona, Castiglione del Lago, and Panicale.

A 2008 tour is being planned.

Giclee Prints:

For those of you who like Julia’s large “Woodscape” paintings, but have not got the space on the wall. The above two are now available as A2 sized Giclee prints (supplied framed, mounted or they can be posted in a roll). Giclee is the highest quality digital reproduction process using special non-fading inks (guaranteedl light fast for 90 years) and top quality cotton rag paper. Woodscape V (see left has recently been reproduced.

The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour (RI) exhibition 2008

The Mall Galleries—London —20th March—5th April

 

Julia’s paintings “ Bull” and “Portrait of a Poem” were on show, and she was elected a member of the society at the end of the exhibition.  This was the first time Julia has put her work into this society exhibition.  The RI show is varied, lively and colourful, and they appreciated Julia’s work for being original and different.  The Mall Galleries RI show provides Julia with an excellent venue to show some of her larger and smaller works on paper each spring.

 

“Living Crafts” - Hatfield House 8-11th May 2008

 

Julia will be an artist-in-residence with her own tent providing master-classes in the drawing of wood stumps

‘The Face of the Earth’ - Nature in Art, Gloucester  10th June—13th July

An exhibition to mark the UN International Year of Planet Earth. Paintings by Julia will be on show together with works from Arts Council and Government Art Collection.
